Frequently Asked Questions

Difference between Price and SAC?

With Price, the installments are fixed and the amortization grows over time. With SAC, the amortization is constant and the installments start higher and then decrease.

How does the Americano work?

You pay only the interest periodically and repay the principal in the final installment.

What is a waiting period?

Initial period without amortization. You can pay only the monthly interest or capitalize it, adding it to the balance.

This calculator offers three amortization systems: Price (fixed payments), SAC (constant amortization) and American (periodic interest and principal at the end).

When to use each system

  • Price: indicated when you want equal installments throughout the contract.
  • SAC: useful for reducing the installment amount over time, paying more at the beginning.
  • American: periodic interest payments and principal repayment at maturity.

Waiting period

During the grace period you can: (1) pay only the monthly interest, keeping the balance; or (2) capitalize the interest, incorporating it into the balance to start amortization later.

Best practices

  • Compare the CET and total fees; check insurance and tariffs.
  • Simulate different terms and rates to assess the impact on the total amount paid.
