Frequently Asked Questions

Does the quality apply to PNG?

The quality slider affects JPG/WebP. PNG ignores this value.

Is it an animated GIF?

Only the first frame is considered.

Your files are processed locally and deleted.

Resizing images correctly helps reduce load time and save bandwidth without compromising sharpness. In general, it’s better to adjust the image dimensions to the actual display size of your website or app, avoiding sending files that are much larger than necessary.

Proportion and cropping

  • Maintain aspect ratio: Automatically calculates the other dimension, avoiding distortions.
  • Crop (cover): Expands to cover the frame and crops the edges, ideal for uniform banners or thumbnails.

Usage tips

  • For the web, define the maximum width of the container (e.g.: 1200 px) and resize to that value.
  • Images for WhatsApp and social media generally look great between 1080–2048 px in width.
  • If exporting in JPG/WebP, adjust the quality 70–85% for good balance.

Formats and transparency

PNG preserves transparency and is recommended for logos and elements with flat areas. JPG generates smaller files for photos; WebP tends to offer an even smaller size with good visual quality.

Best practices

  • Always start from the original file to avoid cumulative losses.
  • Consider generating multiple widths (srcset) for Retina displays and mobile networks.
  • Avoid enlarging small images; this does not create details and may reveal pixelation.
